Hi, do you know what different sizes should be included in an .ico file in vista? And are these huge icons just that: Big pics, or are they life-rendered vector graphics?

With the "huge icons" i meant those you can see in vista, anyway, thank you!
But, are you sure there aren't ones with 64 and 128 also, because the jump from 48 to 256 seems quite exteme?

The reason why theres a big jump from 48 to 256, is because anything beyond 48, is going to be the 256 just downsized. ;)

there are done with GIMP :D
the size of icons in vista should typically be 16 , 24 , 32 , 48 and 256 although 256 is not used by many people so having sizes of 16,24,32,48 would be sufficient for more users and will keep the size of icons low :)
also softwares like icon tweaker still dont support 256 px size icon :P

hmm...
u can use even 64 px icons :)
usually people dont use the 128 px one and 64 px is also less popular :)
Those who have small and medium sized screen usually go for a max size of 48 px
but those who have huge screen they prefer 256 px icons :D
